According to statements made by SBB Infrastructure, the commissioning of the undamaged tube will be delayed. The Gotthard base tunnel will remain closed until Tuesday 22 August 2023, 23:59, and trains will have to continue to be diverted. An adapted replacement concept is being worked out for operations after 23 August.
As things stand, the diversions of our trains are working very well, thanks in part to the traffic slowdown due to Ferragosto. Our customers are being kept informed by the dispatching and sales departments.
